She Blazes was formed in 2021 when an opportunity presented itself with a need for black and brown representation was not being met. Eight black women chefs set their intentions to conjoin talents to support a great cause. From there G.Y.R.L What About Me?" Tasting Menu Benefit developed.
This fundraiser was specifically centered around the inclusion of Black and Brown women in regards to Domestic Violence, Mental Health and all other areas black women are unseen.
"G.Y.R.L. What About Me?" Tasting Menu Benefit an exclusive collaboration of Black WOMEN Chefs, in the Kansas City Metro and surrounding areas, working together for a social cause.
Partial proceeds of this benefit went to G.Y.R.L(Giving Yourself Real Love) a 501(C)3 non profit organization dedicated to bringing awareness to domestic violence and mentoring victims and survivors located the Kansas City, MO.
In that same vein, we are generally left out of many conversations. This dinner not only demands we be included in those conversations, but that we are willing to lead the narrative.
Each course was hosted by a specific chef and paired with a wine to create an historical dining experience.
